Elgato’s Stream Deck software just got a major update with the release of version 6.1. This update brings a host of new features and improvements to an already powerful tool for content creators, gamers, and streamers. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the key changes and enhancements that come with Stream Deck 6.1.

First off, In addition to Stream Deck XL, MK.2 and Mini devices, Stream Deck 6.1 now supports the new Stream Deck+ device, which boasts customizable LCD keys, dials, and a touch strip. This new device promises to offer even more flexibility and control over your favorite apps and software.

Another major addition in Stream Deck 6.1 is the Volume Controller Plugin, which allows users to easily control the volume levels of individual applications on their Windows machine. This plugin comes pre-installed with Stream Deck 6.1 and works with all Stream Deck devices.

In addition, the Stream Deck+ Dials feature has been updated to support plugins such as Camera Hub, Wave Link, Control Center, Hotkeys, and the new Volume Controller, allowing users to zoom with Facecam Pro, tweak audio levels, adjust lights, control Photoshop brush size, and much more.

The Microsoft Teams Plugin has also been added, giving users the ability to control their microphone and camera, or even send a reaction in chat, making managing Teams sessions a breeze.

Wireless Corsair G key support has been improved with Stream Deck 6.1, enabling users to go wireless with their Corsair keyboard and use G key Stream Deck integration without any cables needed. A list of supported keyboards is available for reference.

OBS Studio users will be happy to hear that Stream Deck 6.1 includes a new OBS Studio plugin that’s chock-full of new features, such as the ability to adjust your OBS audio source volume using Stream Deck+ dials and control source volume with keys. The Media Source Control action now includes options to show media source playback time, and a new Virtual Camera Action lets users toggle the virtual camera on or off.

Other improvements include a new Profile Action that allows for quick switching between streaming and recording, or different resolution, frame rate, and destination presets, and overhauled icons for many built-in actions and Elgato plugins.

Stream Deck 6.1 also includes performance improvements and bug fixes, as well as a streamlined Actions List with some actions now grouped in categories for easier discoverability.

Overall, Stream Deck 6.1 is a significant update that brings a range of new features and improvements to an already impressive software suite.
